The 2021 edition of the Chevy Silverado 1500 brings with it the pickup's first-ever available Multi-Flex Tailgate that provides added versatility for your cargo-hauling duties. With six unique functions, the newly available Multi-Flex Tailgate gives you easier access to the truck bed, including improved loading and unloading capabilities. There's even a standing workstation mode of the tailgate that adds to its impressive functionality.

The different configurations of this innovative tailgate can be activated using a key fob or two tailgate-mounted buttons. Silverado's new Multi-Flex Tailgate will be available in early 2021 on new models and pairs nicely with the truck's Durabed that includes 12 fixed tie-downs, a 120-volt outlet, cavernous cargo capacity and LED lighting.

Enhanced Trailering Capability

Chevy's 2021 Silverado 1500 ups the ante in the towing department, thanks to increased trailering capability on two of the pickup's most fuel-efficient engine choices. Both the 2.7L Turbo and 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel add towing capability compared to last year's model.

With a tow rating of up to 9,300 pounds, the 2021 Silverado 1500 Crew Cab Short Box model equipped with the 2.7L Turbo is primed for some serious trailering duties. Its tow rating increases by 2,500 pounds compared to the outgoing model!

Select the 3.0L Duramax turbo-diesel engine in your 2021 Silverado 1500 for a maximum trailering capacity of 9,500 pounds -- or 1,900 pounds more than last year's comparably equipped truck.

New Trailering Technology

Chevy's next-generation Silverado 1500 has led the pack from the get-go when it comes to trailering tech, thanks to its up to 15 unique camera views available for viewing the truck and what you're towing. For 2021, Chevy takes technology to the next level with new or enhanced trailering features. New tech for 2021 includes a Jack-Knife Alert, Cargo Bed View enhancement and Trailer Length Indicator that help you manage pickup and your load while out on the road.

Chevrolet continues to upgrade its popular new Silverado 1500, even following its recent redesign. For 2021, a range of Silverado 1500 trims see upgrades, with newly standard features. The LTZ edition now includes the LTZ Convenience Package, Safety Package and 20-inch polished wheels as standard equipment.
